I'm installing a 5.4 V8 out of a 98 F150 into a 2002 F-150 I've had a 4.6 V8 in it. The O2 has a chip key and the 98 did not. Will the 5.4 motor out of the 98 work in the 2002 with the computer from the 2002 which had a 4.6 in it?

Reason: New question
I have a 2007 f250 V10 and the coil pack has 2 wires going to each one and a bolt that holds each one down, I'm trying to figure out if the coil pack gets a negative(ground) signal from where it bolts down at?
When you say "coil pack" do you mean a "Coil-On-Plug" assembly?
My 1st gen Explorer has a "coil pack" or module with 6 plug wires coming out of it.
The hold down bolt is just that - a hold down bolt and is not part of the circuit.
12v power goes into the coil on one wire (usually RD/LG), goes thru the coil (transformer), and exits the coil on the other wire.
The output wires from each COP go to the PCM where the circuits get grounded/ungrounded at the appropriate times.
Grounding the wire allows current to flow thru the coil creating a magnetic field in the primary side of the coil.
When the circuit is opened (or ungrounded) the magnetic field collapses creating a pulse in the output windings and an arc across the spark plug gap to ground.
