Not original owner

I'm not the original owner I bought this truck fo 1000.00 I'm going to do a poor mans restore If I can find a green dashpad with the right part number not a fake number. Also if I can find a green steeringwheel. With a real part number. .also if I can find the right seat color dye it looks like the same color as the Interior metal color code o which is the same as exterior top color code o.bottom color code y chealsea green. but if I can't find the green Interior parts this truck is not worth Making the effort. this truck was finished being on August 31 which should mean it is a 71 but the vin tag says September 1971 which makes it a 72.so know I don't know what year to buy parts for .the marti report says august 31.the seat has a darkgreen vinyl outer section the center part of the seat looks like seapine.code o the Interior code is f4. Vin code f25hrm60707.

The Marti Report says August 31. The BODY code is F4. VIN: F25HRM60707
Since new vehicles are historically introduced in September of the previous year, production begins in August.

No "VIN tags" on trucks/Bronco's/Econolines until 1980. It's located on the left corner of the dash, visible thru the windshield. Only has the VIN stamped on it.

1970/79: Safety Standard Certification Label glued to the B pillar (door post) below the striker plate. Has the Production Date, misc. GVW's and the VIN printed on it.

A truck assembled 9/71 is a 1972

F4: F = Light Green & Medium Green VINYL - Sport Custom body style 81B / 4 = Styleside Pickup.

F25 = F250 2WD / H = 390 2V / R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant / M60707 = 1972 (1972 serial number range: M40,001-Q00,000).

F25 = F250 2WD

H = 390 2V

R = San Jose CA Assembly Plant.

M60607 = 1972.

131" Wheelbase.

O = Medium Green Metallic.

F252 = F250 2WD, 7500 lbs. GVWR

F4: F = Light Green & Medium Green Vinyl - Sport Custom model 81B / 4 = Styleside Pickup.

G = C6 Automatic Transmission.

38 = Dana 60 Rear Axle / 3.73-1 / 5,200 lbs. Rear Axle Capacity.

165 net HP @ 4,000 RPM

71 = Los Angeles (SoCal) Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

It's a 1972, I told you that before and gave you the following info before (post #47):

The production date is 9/71 and the serial number, the last 6 digits of the VIN is: M60607. 1972 serial number range: M40,001-Q00,000.

Your truck is 46+ years old and has had multiple owners, so who knows what may have been changed, altered, modified and etc.

You said the COLOR code was O .. You never mentioned anything else. If factory tu-toned, there would be two COLOR codes.

DSO 71 edited into post #52.

Does the Marti Report list the original selling dealer?

I have a 1968 Camper special. It does have the wiring plug to snap the camper pigtail Ford supplied with the truck. Any kind of sliding bumper brackets were never part of the package. I have been a Ford Parts Man for 41 years. Numberdummy was a Parts Man / Parts Manager when these trucks were new. If neither of us has heard of Ford sliding bumper brackets, they didn't exist. Now the selling Dealer MAY have send the truck to a RV dealer to load a camper and "aftermarket" sliding bumper brackets on it. Charged the customer accordingly on the sales deal.

It is a two tone green

If I could send pics that would verify the two tone there is still a sharp line between the two colors .the marti report says seaplne green mettalic. I looked all over the truck and all the lines between the two colors are perfect.

I got the cheap report

The cheap marti report that I got didn't have that information. My truck has the wiring harness that plugs Into the harness.

Seapine Green Metallic was the promotional name listed in sales brochures. The actual color listed in the Ford truck parts catalog: Medium Green Metallic

See O in parts catalog pic:

Here's the parts catalog pic (upper) of the 1973/79 F100/350 step bumper. You can plainly see that these brackets could not slide.

Ford never offered a step bumper that could be slid.

I was a Ford parts guy for 35 years, owned 10 Ford F series pickups from 1965 thru 2015 (9 purchased new), have all the parts catalogs from 1928 thru 2001, so I know what the hell I'm taking about.
