This is the alpine radio unit. I priced a replacement alpine unit it costs 800.00 that is the reason I'm thinking of figuring on howto put in my 70 stock radio. The facepiece for that model was gone.

Din unit that came out of dash.

This is the radio unit for my 72

This is the radio cassette cd and equalizer unit I bought years ago.

This came out of a Chrysler dont knowwhat year but it works.i will fix the dash hole so it will fit then have a stereo installer mount it and wire it .

I call bs on Alpine. This is what you do. Look online at Alpine for the manual for this unit and wiring schematic. Cut the connector and use M/F spade connectors and done. Might have to add some wire but it is part of the job. If you want to use your 70 radio, just use the 70 faceplate or get one at JY or Ebay. You will have to support the radio very securely in the back, and use washers on the shafts in front, but it is doable. You can use plumber's tape for the back or something like that. The faceplate will cover the hole.

Not a bad solution

I have the faceplate for the 70 radio but the wiring for the 70 radio only has wiring for the dash speaker .also I dont.have the wiring skills so it still requires a stereo installer to wire the unit and mount it.also the manual for the alpine cda9825 is obsolete. I'm not trying to be lazy I just know my limitations.

Using Chrysler radio

I'm using the Chrysler radio because it is very close to fitting in the hole .and it has the cassette. I still like cassette. The local stereo shop will install it and wire it for 100.00.cheap enough.Less agravation.I'm just going to put this truck together as cheap as possible. Right now I need a driver .as my 72 highboy blew the engine. So I need to find it another home .
