The top and bottom spiders run on the big pin.
Where is the movement and how much?
If more than about .010 or so, some other part is worn or the side bearings are not taken up enough with shims.
Remember the S spring has to go in and put pressure on the spider side gears, especially to put pressure on the Traction Lok clutch disc stack if equipped.
The big pin cannot move with the lock bolt in place.
You ought to be able to tell where the excess clearance is from if it's that much.

It’s a non limited slip no s clip ...all new gears have around an 8th of a inch up and down movement when I push on the spider gears I’m wondering if this is normal also hear a slight clunk when shifting gears
An eighth of an inch is .125" of an inch.
I would say no not normal..
No wonder you hear a clunk.
The most a ring and pinion should have is about .015" +/-.
