I'm in the market for a new windshield for my 51 F3. I've found a local company that will cut one for me only all they have is clear glass. My question is were the original windshields, front and rear, clear or tinted?
Pretty sure they were not tinted, sent you a pm, auto city classics is where I got mine, Only done the back one so far, fit well. packaged well. No complaints so far.

Thats unusual. Most auto glass glaces only have tinted glass for modern vehicles.

This one provides for "Vintage Auto Glass" . I would imagine if a person wanted tinted glass it wouldn't be a problem. I was just wondering if our trucks were tinted or not....
I took all of my original glass except, the rear glass, to a local glass shop and had new glass cut. I had the windshield cut from tinted and the rest from clear. They offered me a couple of amounts of tint in the glass. I went with the lighter tint.

My original looks like it may have a light tint in it and that's why I asked. I would like a light tint also so I'll ask the glass shop for it and see where it goes from there. Thanks to everyone for their insight.
The glass shops in my area offer clear, tinted, shaded, and tinted with shade. When I buy glass I have the option to get it the way I want it and not just the basic clear. Drivability is more important to me than keeping the truck the way it rolled off the factory line. Clear glass in the windshield makes for a lot of glare. If the clear works for you then go for it.
