Hub caps

When I bought my 00' F-250 it had three caps, and I think I prefer no hub caps ,
what do y'all think?

The only benefit I see is clean warm lug nuts 🤔

I see allot of trucks without them. Only downside is what you mentioned, Rusty lugnuts and studs. I guess if the rust got bad enough it could cause problems but a little bit shouldn't hurt. I'd just wire brush everything when you rotate tires

There are millions of large trucks running around with exposed lights and they get along just fine. I've changed a few tired in my days when I used to own a few trucks and the only ones where I had trouble getting lugnuts off due to rust/dirt was on trucks that didn't get washed like they should.

I wire wheel and paint my.lug nuts even with the caps. Keeps it nice and new looking. Also a drop of oil on the nut/washer is recommended whenever the lugs are removed so that helps the stud from rusting

I primed and painted my F-350 factory 4 hole wheels and hub caps with Duplicolor wheel paint (graphite gray). Makes the truck look so much better.

I've had my hubcaps off for about 3-4 years on my 2000 F250 with no problems. I wash the truck about once a month and park it under a car port I built for it.

If I find another rear cap for no other reason than having all four.
i used to be a purist... But not so much anymore.
That being said, after some remarks it does make sense to keep things relatively clean and rust free . So, IF I find the fourth cap I'LL seriously reconsider.

i vote FOR the caps. to me, they look cheap, unfinished without. anyone can slap a set of wheels on there and run em down the road. my truck isnt just transportation. my vehicles are a part of me, and they show it
