Lug Nutz

I am tired of trying to keep hub center caps on the rear wheels. I don't know if people are kicking them off, or using them as a step to reach into the bed when I am not looking, or if they just keep falling off and I am not seeing them roll down the road in my mirror, but they just will not stay on for any length of time. Factory ones were replaced with aftermarket and they fell off.

So what I plan to do it take the wheel off, clean up the hub assembly and paint it with rust bullet then cover it with either black or grey or aluminum colored enamel. Probably gloss black. No problem there, but I am wondering if anyone has a source for (and/or experience with) king-size full-cover chromed or stainless lug nuts? I think the painted hub would look good, just those ugly studs and factory nuts would take away from the final appearance.

Any thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?

run a think bead of something (duct tape, silicone, something adhesive) around the inside of the hubcap.

Gorilla makes stainless. The chrome Gorillas are junk IMO. Plastic caps are glued to the end of the nut. They pop off very easily. I called them and asked if the stainless nuts had plastic caps and they said no.

I ended up going with the McGards. Much better quality. No plastic caps. So far so good.

They ain't cheap though.
