So, I removed most of the smog system and rerouted anything I read that should stay but there is one piece of this puzzle I have yet to find any info or answers on, and that is this vacuum canister located on the driver side of the frame adjacent to the high-pressure pump / fuel filter.
The line runs until this point around the driver's side of the dog house.
so where is this spost to lead? I can provide any other pictures so just let me know if that's needed. Thanks for any help
Maybe if someone who has an 80ish - 91 e150 snaps a pic of what's behind their doghouse then I could figure out the rest. There only seems to be one hose coming off the top of this can. Not even really sure what system its spost to be a part of. Van has hiccups in the fuel system that I'm currently working out (bad rear pump and vapor canister) and I don't think this part is related but it would be nice to know what it is before removing it.
FWIW this is what my vacuum system looks like now... if this thing is even apart of it.
And where is the black coffee can reservoir with multiple lines running to it supposed to be located. I can’t find it in my engine bay and or passenger side frame rail.
Without removing my air box or doghouse, my 88 E150 with a 5.0, AOD, has a plastic round ball vacuum reservoir with a single vacuum hose connected to it. It is tucked down in under the brake booster and to the left side of it a little. According to my EVTM for the van, there is a "vacuum tank" with a single line that is used for the HVAC controls.
I have that same vacuum canister you described under the break booster as well. However I also have the coffee can like in this post mounted in the frame rail by the high pressure fuel pump with one vacuum line going into it. I thought somewhere there was supposed to be a vacuum canister with two lines going into it though.

Sorry for raising a 4 year old post from the dead, but I have one on my 1989 E-150 - do you have cruise control? I think it might be for cruise control. Mine is just a lid, the rest of the can turned to dust, lol
