wiring questions
Hi,I haven't had the truck too long,so I'm finding stuff. The truck has an electronic brake controller for trailers. It lights up when key is off and you push the brakes. Not sure if it should be doing that I would have thought it should only be on when key is on.No obvious connection to fuse box.The po wasn't nice to the dash or wiring, he had a bunch of crap shoved through where the radio used to be,so looks like a hack job or maybe radio was stolen when he had truck but looks bad in there.
I just replaced the battery which was also the incorrect one,and wouldn't hold a charge but concerned about battery draw when truck is sitting.
I was thinking of putting in an auxiliary fuse box, that would be key stuff only, but I didn't see a connection in the cab fuse panel for doing this.
Drivers side blinker...all lights are working and I can hear it blink in the cab but light on dash doesn't light up.however if I use hazards the light on the dash does work....I don' t know why it works with hazard and not with normal use blinker.
Make sure the trailer taillights are not coming off the headlight switch, it will kill the switch or the switch wiring. There is a relay for the trailer lights.
I have to look at the diagrams for the blinker/flasher stuff every time. That circuit can be confusing. Maybe someone will post the diagrams from the EVTM for you.
