New to the site, looking to buy a SD to pull my enclosed trailer and be my everyday truck. My biggest question so far is how to integrate my trailer backup camera. When the trailer was built in 2016 I had them run the wire and add a VCMS155 Voyager camera.
I noticed on my friends truck he hast the Ultimate Tow camera stuff that his camera has a whole different plug style. Has anyone figured out a converter or been able to change the plug to use their existing backup camera? I need to come up with an electronic solution as running new cable in a 40k trailer is not an option after it has been built.
I believe that plug you're referring to comes with the Ford auxiliary trailer camera. You remove the 4 pin connector and install the auxiliary camera connection. But, I believe your SD must have the 360 degree camera system to be able to control this auxiliary camera.
I just took delivery of my ordered 2019 with the 360 degree camera. I held off on the trailer auxiliary camera though because it's a Ford Accessory you can buy after-the-fact.
Yeah, thats right the Aux camera can be purchased after the fact and thats the meat of my question. If anyone has figured out how to convert a regular camera to work with the propritary AUX camera plug/wiring. I dont want to have to add Fords camera, its not even an option really.

You are correct you can order as a Accessory part, I did the same. If your interested in one i have one for sale.
I know you said you already have the camera - these guys have kits that have the adaptor you want with their normal cameras. Maybe they sell just the adapter. I believe the kits they have are for aux camera port see the video below. https://camera-source.com/automotive...Duty&year=2017
here is a you tube video of forum member Iron Cobra aka big truck-big rv, installing one of the kits on his truck.
As far as I know I am not to sure if you can incorporate another brand into the Ford system. I wondered the same before I sold my existing one.
I have this one for use all the time and added a front camera with a toggle switch http://www.naviks.com/#253316238054, ending on Aug-13-18 12:48:40 PDT - 2016-2018 Ford F-150 SYNC 3 Video Interface Add Input for TV DVD Smartphone works on super duty
