Here's a pix of a mini starter has lots of clearance to remove it ,not like the stock starter as you'll fine out.
About 1/8"- 3/16" if your lucky.

I’ll be installing a power master mini starter as well. That summit box there has a few other goodies in it ready to get installed including the starter, Pertronix ignitor iiii and some new valve covers, among other things.

An OE starter will fit with Sanderson FF427 shorties... I've done it.

Scroll thru the reference pictures linked above.

Sanderson's installed along with the mini starter. I decided to do the mini starter since my original starter was on it's way out. However I did test fit the Sanderson's with the stock starter and at least on my block, there was clearance.

I still have to install the edelbrock intake but am waiting for my carb adapter. If I can get a weekend day off from daddy duty, I should have that installed in the next couple of weeks. I'll clean up the block at that time since I seem to have remedied the oil leak with the new valve covers. Once that's on I'll get the new exhaust run. My HOA isn't loving the open headers, but a man has to live a little once in a while.
