Hi guys
i normaly hang out on the IDI forum. My son had a 11 or 12 superduty until about 1130 Tuesday night when it decided to catch itself fire. He said another company had 2 or 3 do it. The arson investigator said there was no foul play. I checked for a recall did not see any. Has anyone else had their truck self ignite?
Was the build date between October 28 and November 19 2010 where a short could develop in the BCM? Could your son or the investigator see where the source was in the engine bay? There have been a few fire discussions over the years but it's not something that happens with these trucks often and could be as unfortunate as a rodent causing a short.

thank you. I will let him know. He drove it that day for work.
have there been any new developments into what caused the fire? how is your insurance handling the situation? pretty wild this self ignition has happened, i have never seen anything like it.
I have not talked to him in a couple of weeks(He is Tx I in Ga).
What he told me is his home owners call Ford to tell them another one of their truck caught fire and damaged a house. Ford is now involved. They want to make sure it was not the houses fault.
