heater boot

That boot is for the fresh air heater. I have that heater in my 56. It can be had from Mid Fifty's trucks. Pt# 1936, $9.50.

If you or somebody you know can sew you can make one. The one I bought years ago from mid fifty was just a sewn piece of vinyl.
