Lube Pump ???
I have tried at least three different brands of these plastic bottle pumps and none of them will stand up to more than three or four jobs.
Each plunge of the pump only delivers a miniscule amount of lube.
I don't like the way that the hose must go up and down with the pump; that is just a big disaster fixing to happen.
After a few quarts, the hose will quit staying on the bottle, popping off and squirting grease to run down your elbow.
Once the hose blows off the pump, about an inch must be cut off the hose and both the hose and pump must be thoroughly cleaned with alcohol before being put back together, else it will just blow off again.
The biggest downfall of the plastic bottle pumps is that the whole grease-dripping assembly must be removed from the bottle to either switch or refill the bottle.
I know there are huge expensive metal air-operated lube pumps that attach to a drum of lube; we used to have one when we had the full-service filling station.
I would settle for a two-and-a-half-gallon metal can with a big hand-lever; and, the main requirement = a separate opening for adding lube so that the pump stays in the can.
Does anyone know of such a device, hopefully affordable ?
Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.
