ok, i just crawled under the truck last night to take a look... you say that you need the 70-79 radius arm brackets and that you have to measure and that they are farther back... are we talking like a several inches back or just a few, cause there's a body mount bracket right behind the radius arm bracket. also, you said to get a lift for a 70-79.... does it matter which one? which did you use and will it work for the rear as well?

The 70 to 79 radius arema are about 10" longer than your stock stamped ones. I acutally though the same thing at first, but found the longer radius arms mound behind the cab mount, plus the way they mount (after you install the lift) is completely under the frame rail. I got a lift for a 72, since that is the axle and brackets that I used. It will depend on what axle you get for your truck. I bought my stuff from 4wheel parts wholesalers and Jef's Bronco Graveyard. I was very up front about thelling them that this was for a solid axle swap into my 95. I let them know that I had 3" rear springs in the rear. They set me right up with everything I needed from a new adjustable track bar and all new bushings, to taller blocks for the rear (I will be going to taller leaf springs next summer due to low $$). All total, inluding the axle and new parts (steering stuff, shocks, power steering oil cooler, brake conversion parts, gears, etc) this swap has cost me around $1500. You can do it a little chaper by getting the 76-77 axles as you can keep your existing calipers and just get longer brake lines. I also trimmed the crossmember for some more clearance between the diff and the truck during off camber times. I will be adding some pics of the conversion as soon I get them all organized and scanned in, so check my profile later on.
