Hey guys. Going to be doing the X and modded C spring upgrade on the X and then going 35s. From what I have read it isn't hard to adjust the speedometer if you have the right scantool to access the ABS module. Local dealer told me "we don't do that."
Anyone in central NJ either have a tool I can borrow/rent or know where I can get it done?
Thanks!
Thanks for the info! I will check it out. Do we know if it works on the app too or just the windows version?
I can't say for certain about that particular feature, but the app has less functionality overall than the full Windows version. And the Apple version of the app has significantly less functionality than the Android version. While the portability of a smartphone or tablet is a great feature, it's worth it for some to buy a separate laptop for Forscan and the service manuals in order to have the most complete toolbox when it's needed.
The link I posted above to Forscan shows the features of each device.
You will need a Windows 7 computer and the extended license to do any program changes to your vehicle.
for a win7 computer I bought a 10” Dell Latitude 2110 on ebay for $55 bucks ( they are plentiful school surplus computers ) and it is the perfect Forscan computer, the case is even rubberized so it doesn’t slide off the dash during test drives.
Forscan list 2 compatible USB adapters, I went with the obdlink sx
