They took off the post-op cast & removed the staples (I thought they were stitches, but I was wrong). They gave me an inflatable "CAM boot" (Controlled Angle Movement). Way, way, way more comfortable than that hard cast. I can even take it off for showering and stuff. in fact, I was given "orders" to remove it at least 3 times a day to "exercise" the ankle without load. I was cleared to put "up to 50% load" on it; modulated by pain level.
The ankle was a bit more swollen than I expected, but the doc said it looked good to him. So I'll take his word for it. Picture of what it looked like just prior to staple removal:
Hmm. No pic. I'll take your word for it though. Already have my own swollen ankle and it looks horrible. Well, the leg looks worse than the ankle, but they are connected. LOL
Hey Bp we have matching Frankenstein stitches, I would guess your next step is Theripy , I’m telling ya those people will move that in ways you didn’t think it was suppose to go , bite the bullet and make it , well worth the stretches and the long term results ,you’ll be glad you pushed it .
Glad to see that all y’all are recovering and slipping into the clutches of the physical terrorists. I get to see the Orthopedic Surgeon on Thursday for my detached bicep and possible torn rotator cuff.
i then get to go Friday to Beal AFB to spend the weekend with 5000+ teen and pre-teens boys for Scout Expo. Hopefully I’ll survive this.

Rotator cuff is the worst thing. Good luck with that, it can take a really long time to heal. The Scout Expo sounds like a hoot.
Quitting tobacco might be worse than the rotator cuff, but maybe I'm projecting? We have a semi-annual volunteer project that I'm sitting out on today because of the leg. That said, I started putting a light load on it yesterday & taking the CAM boot off to do ankle PT. Ankle does NOT want to bend, but I expected that.

I'm not sure about the order of severity, but being here at Scout Expo has made it easier to avoid the tobacco. Now, if I could stop trying to use my right arm, things would be better.
Sometime soon, I'll be going through an mri and then surgery.

You have my sympathy Will. I've gone through rotator cuff rehab three different times, and it was never a picnic. The last time was an 18 month recovery, and I was almost to the stage of thinking that it was going to be a "forever more" kind of thing. But, it eventually sorted itself out. Hang in there, and try your best not to exasperate it.
