Does anybody know if Ford finally stopped using the Bosch CP4?
Just wondering, wouldn’t want to own a vehicle with a CP4 if I could get one with a better design
It's actually the 4.2 that was used in the 15 through 16 year. Even Duramax uses the same pump so you're not going to find much difference out there and I believe the inline 6 Ram uses the cp3 . Check your water weekly and don't let your wife put a few gallons of gas through and you should be okay or yourself at that point let's not get the me-too movement upset today . my 17 at 96,032 still going strong :-]
It's true they don't like water and contaminants, but the revised pump for 2015+ isn't having the random failures the early pumps were having. Nothing to worry about if you aren't buying crappy fuel.
The 2011-16 LML D/Max's shared the CP4.2 with the 6.7s, but they have the ability to swap back to the CP3 if they desired. 6.7 guys don't have that luxury. The 2017+ L5Ps dropped Bosch fuel system/controllers for Denso. So far, they are having some "teething" issues with those now.
