E4OD shifting
1997 F350 7.3 4x4. Just had the transmission and transfer case serviced at the dealership now my shifts seem different. 1st to 2nd seems to get much higher rpm almost like it is slipping. I had the service done just out of maintenance, there wasn’t a problem beforehand. Checked the fluid in the transmission it is in the cold area of the dipstick after driving for an hour. Transmission has 60,000 miles on it. What could have gone wrong? I have an appointment to take it back in but don’t want to be told a bunch of crap.

Not in my experience. I keep hearing this, but I've flushed some pretty high mileage transmissions that had never been serviced and never saw any problems.

It's one of those old timer things. No way to prove it, but i've seen it happen so I don't have a damn clue. They always said there was some sorta build up if you didn't change it and when you flushed it the new detergents knocked away the build up. This seems stupid to me personally, but I've just always lived by it and had no issues. But as I've also said. I've seen cars running fine and friends tell me they got a trans flush cause the auto place said their fluid was nasty and a week later they got a trans shifting like crap.
