Basically a planter box that is 8' long and about a foot wide and tall for her flowers/tomato garden next year. I've got enough wood, I might make two. Will seal the interior with tar or oil, not sure which.

My idea is to build it, bring it to moms house empty, add existing soil from the old, dilapidated one, plant and then water in place.

Maybe you could line the sides and bottom with heavy plastic and put some of them Styrofoam peanuts in the bottom to retail some water for the roots so it is not necessary to water the plants so often
