With all the talk about sound upgrades I'm looking to upgrade my speakers and add a powered sub, I had the basic radio with CD no sync. I've upgraded to a kenwood ddx9904s . Anyone know the size of speakers in the front and rear doors of a 2018 supercab ?
I would try replacing the head unit with a powered unit or add an amp to push some power to the stock.. typically the stock ones can handle a lot more power then they are getting from stock, if you just replace the speakers but don't add anymore power you will be in the same boat you are in now

Not really, you can purchase speakers that are designed with high sensitivity in mind to try and squeeze out as much efficiency as possible. But I really doubt the stock speakers can handle that much more wattage without distortion. They are pretty dinky...although I'll be honest, I think they actually perform better than the Sony's at higher volume. Quite noticeably.
Best money spent would be a component set up front, with a 100ish watt x 2 amp, and a 10" wedge sub in the rear. I think this is the lowest form of stereo replacement anyone should do, since its not that much more money than just replacing the speakers, and its going to absolutely blow away a non amplified system.
There's quite a big difference in OEM and aftermarket, even these cheap Polk DBs are a massive improvement, look at that difference in the magnet and voice coil.

I did go against your advice in the other thread. I ordered the Polk DB 652's for my rear speakers. I just couldn't leave the stock ones in it with good consciousness
