BCM head scratcher
New development...the drivers door lock acuater began to stop intermittently and I ordered a new acuater. The day it arrived the door began functioning properly. Later that day the door locks quit working at the fob, the switch, and the keyless panel. I located the proper fuse and change it (blown), and all was well again. I went home and parked the truck (locks work fine on key fob) and about four hours later with no one around the vehicle the alarm sounds and the lights flash and when I go to stop it I find that the door lock fuse has blown again.
GREMLINS!!!
Back to advance trac symptoms...lights in dash would flash on and of as though there was a bare wire. Sometimes the chime would sound with no lights, sometimes lights with no chimes. One day as I drove to the farm,1 1/2 hour drive, it chimed every eight to ten seconds the entire way. Next day nothing for hours of driving and then there it is again.
I have done numerous searches and can find nothing definitive. Hence the lengthy post.
I'm thinking BCM. Any thoughts?
Also all wheel speed sensors are functioning properly.
Thanks
That being said, it turned out to be the BCM. I replaced the BCM and had it reprogrammed and all is well.
The problem with the doors turned out to be seven wire breaks in the rear drivers side door wiring harness. Purchased a new harness and all is well in that department.
