Power rear slider

Looking to add a power rear slider to my 2001 F250 and I've noticed two different styles that seem the same for this body style; the type with the rubber surround and the flush mount. Do both of these fit these cabs or was there a change to the cab at some point?

There was a few threads on here about that upgrade. I believe the 08+ uses a different gasket that is a structural upgrade because it's more inline with the cab and was done for rollover rating

We had a discussion a while back: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...geability.html . Your OEM single pane window comes out easily, even without tools.
If you have a OEM single pane window, you will almost certainly need to buy a "square channel" rubber gasket to replace the OEM single pane gasket. The only way the OEM single pane gasket will work on the new power slider would be if the slider manufacturer put a "flange" all the way around the window, like the pickup truck sliders made in the 1980's..

As was the case in the other discussion that you linked the thread to, the original poster of THIS thread, with a 2001 model year, wants to install a POWER slider, just like the op in the other thread, with a 2000 model year.

For gasket set rear windows in the 1999-2007 model years, the Ford Accessories POWER rear sliding window uses the same gasket as the single pane non sliding window. The same holds true for the aftermarket CR Laurence Power Sliding rear window, because CR Laurence is the OEM supplier to the Ford Accessories power rear sliding window. They are the same product, other than the Ford Accessories version came in a Ford Motor Company box. I have this window, and this box, and the instructions that go with it, and my truck came with a single pane rear window originally. There is no doubt that the gaskets are exactly the same.

Equating an experience installing a MANUAL sliding rear window with a POWER sliding rear window could cause FTE members to waste $50 on the wrong gasket. The MANUAL sliding rear window from Ford does indeed use a different type of gasket than the single pane window. But this is not the case with the Ford Accessory or CR Laurence gasket set POWER sliding rear window, which uses the SAME gasket as the single pane window.

I cannot report personal experience with 2008 and up urethane set rear windows, nor with the production OEM power sliding rear window that was factory installed in King Ranch models between 2003 and 2007. My comments are limited to 1999 through 2003 models that did not originally come with a power sliding rear window, but that are able to be retrofitted with one, as Ford made an Accessory Power Rear Sliding window available in the Super Duty since 1999.

I already installed a manual slider in my truck after removing the stock fixed window. While it's nice to be able to open it I find I don't open it as often as I would like since I have a Super Cab and it's kind of a pain to reach. Yea I know, first world problems. Today I found a power slider out of an '11 for a fair price. I realize this '11 window is attached with urethane and no gasket but it is my understanding that it will in fact fit in my 2001. I plan to get the glass and any wiring and switch that go with the slider. I'm guessing a pretty straight forward install and hook-up if all goes according to plan. Anything I've missed?

My Crew Cab came with the manual slider. I can count how many times I've opened it on one hand (and I've had the truck 11 years).

Great, another project to add to the wish list! My wife is going to be thrilled.
