Fuel tank pressure sensor EVAP

Please help 2005 f250 crew cab long bed lariat 5.4 liter V8. Throwing code p0452. Bought a new fuel tank pressure sensor thinking like every other vehicle it would be on top the tank. Dropped it completely down and no sensor any where.. All my research didn't lead me any where. Plenty of f-150 advice but none 250. Please where is this located???

I replaced the fuel pressure sensor on my 2008 F250 5.4l and it is on the drives side of the motor, approx around cylinder #6. I know because I broke the electrical connector to the sensor while changing spark plugs.

It bolts directly on to the fuel rail.

If I recall, it is usually not the sensor but the evap canister itself that fails, as it gets clogged up with dirt and crap. It is a pricey fix. On most other cars it is the purge valve itself that fails. Never heard of an evap sensor going bad.

The evap canister cannot cause his trouble code, P0452 is for an electrical circuit fault related to the FTP sensor. You have to read the stated symptoms and, if necessary, actually look up the codes in order to provide accurate assistance.

Look on the top of the fuel pump assembly for the FTP sensor, that's where Ford's parts website diagrams show it to be. https://parts.ford.com/shop/en/us/se...-1#partMatched

That's what I was scared of. I did drop the tank and looked in the fuel pump assembly and it's not there. Hoping I wasn't the only one that ran into this

I've read that on some Fords, it's build into one of the evap system hoses. I have no idea if that applies to your truck or not. Doesn't appear to be a particularly common occurrence on the Super Duty trucks based on web searches I've made.

If the sensor isn't where Ford's own documentation says it is, well...

Did you buy a Motorcraft of aftermarket sensor? Part number?

It's an aftermarket part BWD don't have the part number off hand. Just the amount of disappointment when I dropped the tank and it's not there was not a good time for me I'll get the part number as so. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/bwd-fuel-vapor-vent-pressure-sensor-ec7022/18481767-P?searchTerm=Fuel+tank+pressure+sensor

Part number ec7022

In line?

I think I realize mine is a inline one? Almost that similar to the ones on the escape? But that is not called for for these trucks . Guess I'll leave the CEL on

2005 Ford F250 EVAP Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor

I believer what you may be looking for is the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, Ford p/n 5C3Z9S278GM. It is no longer available. Anywhere that I can find. This sensor is part of a long tube assembly (about 3 ft or so) and is located above the fuel tank in the framework. Yes, you have to lower the fuel tank to get at it! Really stupid of Ford. Alternatively, you could lift the bed, which is really not the toughest job as long as the 8 bolts have not be rusted into place. You are likely better off lowering the tank. I think the actual sensor (a 3" black piece with a connector and tube ports on it, I placed a picture of it for you I have labeled the connector with their function

) part number may be 9C052, but Ford will not have that either. I'm still looking. By the way, it may not be the sensor itself, but one of the tubes that are attached to it. Mine got pinched by the body shop and the mechanic found the problem and once the pinch was resolved no more CEL. The bad news; it a &%$(# to get in there and look for a pinched line. Also, check the connector and wiring. Hope this is of some help. Good luck.
