if You are planning on plowing commercially you might want to also find a dana 60 front axle.
the Dana 50 in your Ex is ill suited to the task. I have never operated a plow but had broken 3 hubs and an axle just getting out of my snowy icy driveway. Anytime the front wheels are spinning and catch traction the hubs blow off. Total PITA.
I finally switched to a free spin kit from Dynatrac with 35 spline axles and Dynatrac hubs. BEEFY but it still leaves the tiny pinion shaft to worry about.
To bad ford never offered a “snow fighter 60” in the super duty like the old 78-79 trucks

Just plowing my driveway. Not commercially plowing anymore. I think it will hold up fine for that use
Tom correct me if I’m wrong but the x springs bring even more lift correct? I don’t want to go to high as I want it to stay at a reasonable tire size. Already have two jeeps on 35s and want to avoid all that comes with running tires that size.
You are correct, more lift from X codes than V codes. And if only plowing your driveway and not doing commercial work and running around town with the weight of the plow on you should be OK with a set of Vs.
