Have a 1954 ford truck all original except has been converted to 12 volts. I bought new sending unit and installed but needle would not move. Was told that the sending unit did not match the omhs for original gauge. Bought correct sending unit to match up with gauge and it still wont move or register. I have checked ground and added extra ground to no avail. Would appreciate any feed back. Also I checked and gauge on instrument panel is working when grounding sending unit it moves full range. Thanks.
Have you verified that you have power to the gauge? Have you checked the wire from the gauge to the sender for continuity? Have you checked the ohm reading on the sender to make sure the gauge is working?
