windshield Cleaning

So I have the original windshield in my 2001 still and the other night it was raining after i just put new wipers on, and the glare and spots on the windshield from oncoming cars was horrible!! What have you found that works well in cleaning your windshields?

One of the best glass cleaners I've used is denatured alcohol - it's available at most hardware stores in the same area as paint thinner. It doesn't come in spray bottle though so you'll have to buy one if you want to spray it.

Don't forget to clean the inside of the windshield too.

I soak it with Formula 409, then once that’s wiped off, use Windex on it.

Cleaning won't help, the problem is micro scratches and pit marks in the glass. These scratches and pit marks scatter the oncoming light and cause the glare. The only way to really fix it is to replace the windshield. I know this from having gone from an old glare at night windshield to a new one with no glare at all.

If it is this, Rain-x will help some as it fills in the pits and scratches. Won't make it as good as new, but might help enough to make it tolerable

You could try something like this if it's really bothering you: https://www.eastwood.com/pro-glass-polishing-kit.html
I don't know how well it works.

Thanks guys for all your input. I washed it with denatured alcohol and cleaned it really good and it seemed to help.
Thank You
