Alright, update! Fuel pump is in and working. New pressure readings at 30psi and increase with RPM jump. However the stumble, while decreased remains. So I put in a new dizzy to eliminate the PIP as a problem. Now it runs worse. I plan to dig out the old timing light in the morning, check timing again etc, of course SPOUT removed. I will check for codes again then also.

any ideas are welcome at this point. Don't want to just throw money at it at this point, but I'm starting to lean toward a pcm... but I hope not.

thanks again!
Did the truck under go an engine swap at some point?

Reason why I am asking is if it has a 6 cyl PCM that would explain why it see's 6 cylinders and not 8 and could explain other issues... just taking a stab here.

It's pretty easy to pull out if you want to check and verify it is the correct PC. about a 10 min job.

Headed down that road probably, and I'll check it soon I'm sure. But the comp hasn't changes sence I have owned it, so unless the comp went bad that probably won't account for the rough running. Right?!?

the stumble is at its worse in drive stopped, like at a stop light.

It's a possibility. My truck had a bad PCM when I bought it unbeknownst to me,and shifted hard, then one day it just went to running like total crap, thats when I found the PCM was bad.

Ok update.
set the timing at 10 degrees with the SPOUT out, she seemed to smooth out. Then I watched the timing with SPOUT in, and there was a jump to almost 20 degrees.... is this normal??

KOEO ... no codes
KOER .... 311 is only code

the good news is that the test showed 8 cylinders. And I am not getting any EGR codes.

I looked into the 311 code. I removed the thermactor and caped the corresponding vacuums lines long ago. When I did all of that I did not have any issues.

Ideas gentlemen?

Let me also say that the old gal is running like trash. Shifting poorly, kind of a lurching thing etc. I should also say that I cleared the P CM before testing the new dizzy, and well, more of the same.

I hope this thread isn't dead.... I need some help

I pulled and opened the PCM/ECU and surprise surprise it is not the original unit. All stickers have been removed and I cant identify it. Additionally there is a leaking resistor (I think that's what its called) that is visibly bad.

The dealer was no help cross referencing the information. And FS1 had trouble with the VIN also. However they gave me a part number of GJ7A12A650ZA. I have dug around on the net to locate one using that number and have had no success. Please help.

VIN 1FTHX26G0TEB29328
