Cruise buttons

Hi all:

My '85 Ford E150 has the steering wheel mounted cruise control buttons that run across the steering wheel spoke from left to right. Sadly the two buttons on the far right is missing.

Is there still a source for this button bar (Not sure what it's called)? I love cruise control and would really like to fix this if I can.

Cruse control broken buttons

Try salvage yards (Ford specific if possible) I've had good luck with some things for our 1993.

That's a good call.

What part should I be asking for. Cruise control buttons may be too generic.

Switch so marked is the same: 1980/86 F100/350 & Bronco; 1981/86 Econoline: OFF - ON - RESUME - SET - ACCEL - COAST

At one time, you could buy just the switch, but Ford obsoleted it, replaced it with the horn pad that includes the switch.

The horn pads (there's more than one) are obsolete, no one has any NOS

Thanks for the information. That'll make it easier to find one. I had a girlfriend (passed away in 2004) who had a blue and white 3/4 ton 1981(?) Chateau and I seem to recall it had the same cruise control button set up. The resume button no longer worked but the rest did.

I should ask her dad if the blue and white van is still in the family someplace parked away. I honestly can't recall now if the brown 1983 Chateau I tipped over in April of 2012 had cruise control. That van's long gone.

That was actually very helpful. Within one minute I'd found two complete steering wheels with cruise buttons on them for the 1980 to 1986 Ford F250, they should fit.

What you assume are two individual switches, one on the left, the other on the right...is actually a one piece assembly. See pic.

I'm glad you cleared that up for me.

I found a couple of complete steering wheels with the cruise control button bar, I'll likely do that if I can't find an intact button bar.

Yay! Thank you.

Payday's in 13 days so I'll pay off the $400 I borrowed to license the van then buy a steering wheel.

You don't have to replace or remove the steering wheel, because the horn pad with switches attaches to the backside of the wheel with two screws.

Even better, though I may have to buy an entire steering wheel to get them. No big issue either way.

I actually have the tools to pull steering wheels because I almost always replace the stock steering wheel with a custom steering wheel.

Still, I'd rather just unscrew the horn pad and swap it, it's much faster. Thank you.

Can you guys find me a steering wheel for a 1990 E350? My cruise is not working and my mechanic says it's the switches.
