Future Fummins Plans

Hello everyone! Been a while since I've been on this forum and looked around. I used to stomp around on this forum when I my 09 F250. I later switched to a 2016 Powerstroke which I loved until the dealer mechanic got a little carried away with the oil pan sealant while fixing a leak under warranty. After deciding I didn't want a brand new truck that already needed major engine work or a new motor, I switched to a 2017 which I also loved. My wife and I then decided to downsize our payments drastically while we paid school debt off so I went to a 2013 F150. This truck was really nice BUT I missed the feel of a heavy duty and a diesel. This brings me to my current truck, which is far left field for me since I have always been a Chevrolet and Ford fan........ Bought this from an acquaintance at work who dumped over 8,000.00 in the motor when he lost cylinders 1 and 6. The previous owner before him ran the truck on hot Edge tunes (even when he towed I assume) and over the course of 200,000+ miles of this abuse the motor decided to pack it's bags and head south. My buddy was going to use the motor for a Fummins swap so when he had it rebuilt, he did it right. Mahle forged pistons, balanced rotating assembly, ARP headstuds, Valair dual disc clutch, etc. etc. He ended up deciding to sell the truck when he realized how much money finishing building his house was going to cost him. I couldn't pass up the the deal, especially considering what he spent on the motor and trans. I plan to Cummins swap an 08-10 Superduty down the road with the power plant from this truck. For now, I am daily driving this truck and plan to do so for the next 3-4 years until we pay the wife's car off, at which point the Fummins swap will go under way. 2004 Ram 3500 5.9 Cummins 6-speed manual.
