Making payments!
She's paid off!
66,000mi. Four air filters, eight oil and filter changes, one front set of brake pads, one transfer case fluid
change, one tranny filter and fluid change, four tires, four Krown treatments.
Not too bad!
Congrats! We did the same thing a few years back after we got Dave Ramsey serious about paying off debt. It was the first time I had ever had two cars under factory warranty that I owned outright. It's a good feeling.
Congrats I've been hammering payments on my 2015 constantly and I just got under six thousand pay off. I send in money every paycheck no matter what.
im so glad I got an XL and not something forty thousand more.
I did spend some money on spray in bed liner, tint, then headache rack and used aluminium RKI tool box.
I'm really happy with my truck.
I'm also liking that it's finally getting "older" and not so "new" any more and I can relax a bit. But I still take good care of it like it is new and it does still look new.
i have a beater truck my 1980 Bronco that gets all the hazardous duty like saltwater boat launches and stuff.
I do admit wanting an older 4.0 Tacoma for backup dirty work and quick short errands.
My 2016 f250 will be paid off in the spring of 2019. Exactly three years from buying it new.
Yes it will be a good feeling and i will have a great truck with many more years left in it.
Bought mine back in March, but only owe 6K on it. I did put down a considerable amount when I bought it though (10K). Still will be nice when I pay it off. Unfortunately, I can't bring myself to buy a brand new one, ever. I defintely wouldn't want those payments. Only gave 18k for mine when I bought it, and after my down payment, the monthly payment is small. I still pay more when I have a little extra to give, but I just can't figure out how some people can buy one that is 50k+ and pay those crazy high payments.

Most of their paycheck goes to the payment and insurance. The same thing applies to houses and mortgages. When we bought our house we tried and succeeded in staying in the lower end of the budget. The same thing when I bought my 06. I bought an 16 Jeep a couple months ago. I took plenty of time looking at payments and insurance. At the end of the day I still have money to play.
The plan is the money I was using for a payment I'll save. Either for a replacement of down payment on a newer pickup some day. Right not I plan to keep my 06 as long as possible.

It's not the money, It's just the principal of how over priced trucks are nowadays. Ive owned nearly new ones in the past and been in a not so good vehicle payment situation once, and swore I would never do that again. The difference between houses, and vehicles, is that the vehicle depreciates immediately when you drive it off the lot. If you buy a house for 100k, the very next day it is still worth 100k and in a few months, if you put in some sweat equity, it is worth more than 100k. I look at a home as more of an investment, but vehicles are definitely not investments. I will more than likely always buy used. Let someone else take the hit. I see young guys all the time come to work where I work, and most of them get here driving beaters for first 2 months. They get a few paychecks in, and the next thing you know, they come rolling up in a brand new 60k truck. Needless to say, within a few months of the purchase, most of them end up trying to off load it to escape the payments. Life lessons I guess...
