Hey guys i thought i would finally post about my 2001 F-250 V10. After pondering for several weeks about BBKs 65mm Throttle body and the Spacers other people make i decided to sit down and machine one up, Main bore size is 65mm but it tapers down to 62mm with the 1 inch spacer. I finished about 60% today and i will continue to machine it throughout the week and get it on the truck and give you guys another update. I will also follow this up with a Volant CAI and yes i have already done the Y pipe and it was a good upgrade.

Side note, does anyone know why Ford used a twin butterfly valve throttle body instead of one giant one like on the Chevy LS engines? I'm guessing it's something to do with intake air velocity, but a definitive answer would be nice.
From my understanding its because better part throttle air control but still allows it to have just as much airflow at WOT if not more. Ford used both depending on engine and year.
That is looking really nice, I have the bbk one and it was a decent upgrade. It also has a screw on the side to adjust idle. Also yes I'd really like to hear about your spacer as well.
Any chance you can cnc a custom intake manifold? Lol would love to see one made one day, no one's done it and everyone says that is the bane of this engines power problem.
This will have the screw too. And i have one of the earlier none-PI V10 intakes and its very restrictive but when they changed to the PI they improved the manifold greatly.
The real downside comes from the heads and cam. As of right now i cannot give you a solid answer because i'm not going to do anything until i have tried it myself and can say it actually works......But i do plan to get some cams for this truck and also build a 2v on the side with forged rods and pistons at a later date.
I very well could i actually have a 97-99 Manifold and Plenum sitting on my shelf. Id say it would be more cost effective to 3d print a Nylon or other strong plastic material like what Ford uses on the 3v V10s. But there would be no REAL gains to be had without port work to the heads and cams.
That's true and it would all have to be made at the same time to line it all up correctly. I wanted to find a supercharger and do everything you just said to fit with a kennel bell but never found one. I'd honestly hate to do all that and get 100 horse also lol. No one has ever truly gone all the way with a 6.8 maybe someday.
Im picking up a Procharger or a Vortech from a friend and making a custom bracket to mount it. Also regrinding the cams and I just received the shift kit and water meth injection yesterday but more on that later. I wish 5star could tune for this stuff over email but I think its reaching out of their ability since I don't believe they have had a SCed and cammed V10 come in their doors.
I think they have a baseline tune for the Kenn Bell supercharger, maybe you could start with that? Where you from? I've wanted regrinded cams forever as well.
Im in Montana and just give Crower a ring they will regrind both cams for $580 but they don't know the specs until they check the stock specs. Pulling the cams is where it gets pricey but if you gotta do timing chain and such then its worth it.
Talk about a custom one off! I LIKE it! How do you like the new throttle body? Every car/truck I have had a bigger TB on it always seemed like I lost the nice subtle throttle response. Truck either was no go or all go! I had my ford lightning and I bought a bigger TB and then went driving around... It came right back off and I sold it as I didn't like the harsh manners of it. It prolly didn't help that I had a magnum powers blower, 8lb lower and other stuff. :P
