Hi guy's,
I just got a new 2018 f 250 6.2 liter gas with the 6.8 ft bed. The fuel tank is supposed to be 34 gals but when I fill it up at just over 1/4 tank I can only get 16 gals in it. What am I missing? I'm wondering if 1. there is a reserve built into the calibration of the gauge 2. The calibration is off or 3. It has the wrong size tank in it. This is important because I tow a travel trailer. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I've noticed a similar thing. I've gotten down to where the needle looked like it was pointing at E, and it only took 26 gallons to fill. I know they have some reserve, but 8 gallons? I'd almost think the TSB mentioned here applied:
Thanks for that. It's kind of frustrating not knowing for sure how much gas is left in my tank. I tow a travel trailer and running out of fuel is a bad thing with 7000 lbs hanging on your bumper. That helps narrow it down. Thanks again.
