My 07 is needing tie rods. Ford did the ball joints about 2yrs ago.. So if moog tierods are ****, what brand is the better choice. Im sure with 140k on the truck my trackbar will also need attention so i appreciate seeing this info posted.
The first question I ask when someone asks me in person is are you happy with the life you got out of the OE parts?
If so, Ford dealer’s like Auto Nation White Bear, Ford Parts Giant, and Tasca have excellent on-line prices for Motorcraft. Rock Auto also carries some Motorcraft, sometimes at less cost.
Dana/ Spicer was the OE production line supplier, you could hunt down a retailer for those as well and not pay the extra charge Ford adds to the price for its name on the package.
The minimal life I got on steering/suspension OE parts was the ball joints, one failed at 135k due to splitting of the boot that allowed water and dirt entry. Next suspension was sway bar links at 180k, parts that were revised multiple times at the OE level. Although they received a higher load then stock as I installed an Excursion thicker bar long before. The next steering component was the tie rod end at the pitman arm, 203k miles.
