Winter fuel treatment.

Winter is coming and I’m a first time diesel owner and was wondering what others do to treat their fuel.

Now that the guys know how cold the climate is where you live, they can now give an educated answer. Me? LOL, I live on the coast of California so no treatments ever, for me, and no educated answers from me on that either.

There's also several "Cold Weather" "Cold Start" threads from over the years you can stroll thru while the answers pile up for ya in this thread, just FYI.

I live in SE Idaho and winter here is cold and looong. I add Power Services fuel additive (White bottle diesel kleen from Walmart) when I remember but I haven't had a problem with fuel gelling up in the two winters I've had my truck. I park the truck outside and use a wifi timer for the block heater and have no problem starting or driving.

I use powerservice year round. White bottle in the winter gray the rest. Keep a red bottle of the 911 just in case but have never used it. I have never had a problem but my friends duramax gelled up once last winter when he did not use anything. He usually does just was out of it.
