Can someone please help me-do we need to replace the seat filters or not? My owners manual says they need to be replaced, but no part number is given. Google helped me arrive at a part number FS-106. Reading amazon reviews, the filter is no longer a filter, just a plastic cover. I tried a search on this forum but didn't see anything. This has to have come up before. Thanks.
In my manual for the 2018, it states: "Your vehicle has lifetime air filters that are integrated with the seats. Regular maintenance or replacement is not required."
I wonder if theyre talking about the SOCK that was retrofitted to improve cooling.
the SOCK is only on the seat back, ive seen nothing resembling a filter on the seat bottom.
OK I see now that 2016 (and older) had a filter on them.
I've had my seat/coolers apart and can vouch for the fact that there are NO filters on my 2017 seats/coolers.
I improved the seat back cooling with the Seat Guru Fix
Tell me more about the seat guru fix. I read his site - is it a drastic improvement? Highjacking, I know - but seems OPs q was answered.
its an improvement in cooling....not giant....but imo the seats need help (remember im in houston).
the fix is easy to DIY...it helps get the hot our out of the back of the seat (thermo-electrics)...AND it helps ingest cool air into the fan system.

I haven't done it yet, but after many years of dealing with thermals and airflow rates, I can tell you the person who designed the Ford system was quite the rookie. I will be doing the mod at some point as my cooling is no where even close to the old system.
Ok I looked under my seat and could not find anything that looks like the picture in the manual. There is a circular filter-like piece but it doesn’t mount the way the manual shows it, and the fan housing isn’t like what is depicted. I guess the manual is just wrong. The piece that is under the seat appears to be a coarse mesh that can be wiped off. I don’t think it it removable. I guess I won’t worry about it. Thanks.
