Hi all,
My current project is replacing rusted doors on my 99 Ford F350 7.3 diesel. I bought 2 replacement doors from a swap meet that are in better shape that the ones I have currently. After taking apart the new doors as I want to get them painted to match the rest of the truck it looks like both doors came from a truck that had manual windows and locks. This may be a dumb question but can all these doors within the 99-06 year time frame be swapped from manual to power? I'm just learning how to work on trucks so I thought I'd ask people more experienced and knowledgeable than myself. Any advice or information would be great appreciated!
Yes you can still use them. It wont be much fun to put all the electronics into the new doors from your old ones, but as long as your old ones worked fine everything should swap over no problem. Its basically a matter of swapping over the window motor and door lock actuator. Just aggravating that's all.
