P2287 Only When Hot

So long story short, I had been getting an intermittent P2287 when the EX was hot. Swapped out the ICP with new Ford ICP from the late 04+ sensor. At the same time I ran a new report wire from the ICP plug to the ECM (clarifying this, I used solder in connections to the new report wire on each end leaving the plug end as it was along with the ECM connection). I checked the power and ground sides with my ohm meter to verify good signal there. So this was all done on Wednesday evening.

I drove the EX to work on Thursday and Friday with no issue.

Hooked up the camper for a quick weekend trip to KY and about half way into the trip I noticed ICP sitting at 875 and IPR at 32 when stopped at a light. So, we get to the property and setup. Checked the wiring Sunday morning before church and all looks good. Head into church and watch the ICP on the way. It's perfect. IPR running normal range, etc. Coming home, same thing after an hour or so come to a stop light and ICP is back to 875, IPR at 32. I'm confused and afraid the ECM is the problem. If I drive with the trailer for a short trip, no issue. Long trip with extended temps in the low 200's and the 2287 comes back. I'm confused and worried.

Any ideas?

What do you mean by "report" wire?
Is this one of the two wires from the plug?

Have you had those IPR/ICP readings at the stop light hot before?
That is high for a hot idle, but makes me wonder if it has something to do with the rewiring.

The ICP is three wire sensor. Reference 5vdc, ground and report. The reason I replaced the ICP was because of this issue and I had noted the 875icp reading at idle when towing before. The 875 number is the same as sensor unplugged which is why it sets the P2287. I wanted to eliminate the intermittent code and loss of ICP which is why I replaced both the ICP and report wire.

Durr.......I forgot it was a three wire.
I didn't sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night either.

It would seem the PCM is not seeing what the actual ICP is telling it then
Did you replace the plug as well?
They have been known to go bad even when the sensor did not gush oil all over the place. The heat is a killer underneath the turbo on the early builds.

No need get overly worried, the PCM just uses a default value until the issue is resolved, won't cause any major issues.
some have reported minor decrease in MPG and slightly less performance, random light surge/hunting at idle

New plug last year when I replaced the HPOP with an Adrenaline pump. No new plug this go round but did verify resistance through the circuit at .2 ohms on all three leads. Just has me stumped as to why it’s acting this way.

Installed new Alliant plug end with soldered connections. Towing the TT this weekend and small tractor to our KY property next weekend for some flood cleanup. Hoping that not being able to test the resistance under load was the issue but I have my doubts.
