239 Y Block Timing help
Hi Everyone,
What advice do you have for timing a 239 that only has the pointer and single notch for TDC on the crank pulley?
Timing recommendations?
I am still having trouble with nearly impossible hot starts and want to make sure the timing is where it should be.

Hi Abe, all of my grounds are new 00. My positive wire is a little smaller and older but I don’t think that’s the issue. That being said it is on my list to replace.
I think my my issue is timing or the carb is pukeing gas back into the engine when it’s shut off.
I figured I would start by getting the timing right.
