You need to extend the pump/sender float assembly till they are at the bottom of the tank. It will then probably read full from half a tank on up, and accurately show the fuel level from half a tank to empty. To me that is satisfactory operation, rarely do I drive a factory setup that shows "full" when the tank is actually full. Most of the vehicles I drive hang up in the full area for quite awhile, and then start dropping fairly quickly when the needle does get off of the "F". Yours would just stay on full a little longer than most.
