67 240 carburetor

may be time to replace the ole fomoco carb. it started leaking gas around the throttle shaft on both ends. not sure if there is a fix for this. anyway, what would be a good replacement? I see several different kinds available. it has a manual choke. thanks....

Not sure fluff. But back to the first page at least. Maybe someone will see it and chime in.

That just means it was flooding due to a stuck float, leaking needle valve etc. It doesn't mean the entire carb needs replacing, just rebuilding. The original carb is always going to be better than a parts house rebuild.

yep you are correct, it sat in a barn with old gas since 1990. I rebuilt it myself and it ran good then started flooding. I reset the float and all good so far. its an autolite 1101 and says fomoco on it, like you said, the original carb is better, thanks....

If you have not done it yet you should replace all the rubber gas lines don't forget the one under the cab where the two hard lines meet.
The new crapping gas E85+ gas will soften the old rubber gas lines to a point of breaking the inner core down an could plug up the carb needle seat causing
the carb to flood if no filter at the carb hard inlet line..

Thumbs up

I did replace the hoses and that one under the cab was about to break into. the fuel pump has a filter in it so no inline filter. just replaced the discharge line with a steel line. its working perfect now. runs good and starts instantly. I think like yall said I most likely had the float adjusted wrong. anyway, I just ran a can of sea foam thru it seems to help. I probably didn't get it cleaned good enough also. thanks to all
