I bought a 2.5" leveling kit along with an AAP for out back which I was told is about 1" of lift. I take some long trips, 1000+ miles each way, and the level kit is kind of worrying me (death wobble, tire wear, losing mpg's) so was thinking maybe toss in a 1" shorter block and do the AAP so I get the extra capacity I'm looking for. Thoughts? Am I too worried? and if anyone has some shorter than 350 blocks I'll take em.
I think the reason you haven't gotten any replies is that this is a personal preference issue; to raise the front or lower the rear? The answer depends on which YOU prefer.
I would like to lower my SRW F-350 front and rear, but it handles everything I do so damn well I'm afraid to mess with it... I guess its easy enough to return to stock if I don't like the way it performs.
After having several highly modified daily drivers....and with these trucks already being pretty tall.....my plan is lower the rear by 1" when I order next year. Mine will come with a snow plow package to get an extra 3/4" of lift in the front and I'll put some 285/75-18's all around.
Any time you mess with the front end, it has the potential to create a whole host of other issues you have to contend with. Lowering the rear is pretty straight forward and easily reversible.
It all depends on that you want. I did 3" in the front of mine and didn't touch the rear (except new shocks) and its sits about level front/rear. With 2.5" lift you still have a little forward rake (at least on my truck with stock rear springs, which is why I added .5" to the front)
In regards to all your concerns you need to expand on what kit and what you are doing. I put on adjustable radius arms and I was able to dial in everything and have no issues except a smoother ride.
If you want to lower the rear you can buy custom height blocks here:

I was just looking for others experiences. My 2007 I put a 4" Icon lift on but it didnt tow much. I'd like to keep the truck somewhat stock and put on some 35s or 37s next year. I needed a little more weight capacity out back so got the AAL's. Figured that would bring the rear up an inch and then Id have a 3" rake so I just bought the Readylift 2.5" to level it out. When I posted this I just read of someone using the 2" blocks to lower it so never thought of that.
