Gear indicator?
Some days the gear indicator on the gauge cluster shows up some days it doesn’t! What’s causing this?

Yeah, if you go into D, it'll be there. If you hit +, it'll disappear. Hit - and it comes back.

Lol......One of those four fingers or thumb on your right hand is causing the problem.

Welcome to the club because we all have been there several times before with the vanishing gear numbers.

I've wondered why they have it where you can make the gear indicators disappear. Would seeing them really irritate some people?

I have the opposite problem on my wife's explorer. I can't tell what gear I'm in, and have not read the manual to see if there is a way I can make it appear. Playing with the 3.5 ecoboost with the paddle shifters is somewhat fun. A "friend" of mine said it was governed at 120 mph. All I have to say about that is all of the factory safety devices are intact.

Lol I came from a 2nd gen Dodge where the only technology was the only problem(vp44) I feel like I’m in a space ship

At first I thought my truck did not even have it when I drove it home until I started playing with the buttons and it appeared lol.
