on first starts in the morning the engine on turnover wants to spit and sputter like its tring to choke itself out.turn key off then restart and it starts ok and idles ok...what could this be....
Well Scott, that depends alot on what year your truck is. It could be your cold start sensor or various other sensors. When it comes to sensors, it's really difficult to find out which one is working and which one isn't, without a computer. Are you getting any check engine lights? Is your truck carburated or fuel injected? If it's fuel injected, I would probably take it to a dealer for that one. Unless you have your own diagnostic computer.
'97 i believe....granted, the 3.8 which is what our motor comes from has been out longer I believe.....do not quote me on this...but that is why there were so many problems in 97 and 98 model 4.2s first two years...had problems
I'm still learning the ropes but the truck is 5y/o and u have put in a lot of stuff but 1) have u changed out the fuel filter 2) any contaminates in u'r fuel?
R u in 1 of the states that might be switching to that ethyl alchol additive?
Is u'r fuel line pressure up to snuff?
Enough from this amature my brain hurts.......
