Has anyone hard wired a their radar detector on their 2017 or 2018 F250? I can't seem to find any instructions on how to do it. I would like to just use a wire tap but need some guidance. Help if you have any knowledge about how to do so. Thanks
I made one of these for my last car. I bought two sewing needles, threaded them with wire, soldered them on, then added heat shrink tubing. Easy peasy, works in any car with that kind of connector. Wouldn't work in the Ram though.
Just run the power to the fuse block in the passenger side kick panel. There's a bundle of wires there, one is the PTO wire and should be labeled. It will provide you with switched accessory power. Dont have to go through the firewall, should only take about 10 minutes to wire up.

Passengers side kick panel as mentioned...unplug the PTO bundle, witch will make connecting very easy, then tap into the green/orange wire labeled CBP22....plug PTO bundle back in.
The CBP22 wire is fused at 5amp on switched power.
Is there a pass through the fire wall so I can run rca cables from a front camera?
Not a passthrough (there are those, but those are wires that are already passed thorugh, so you connect on both sides without having to poke through the firewall).
There are multiple plugs to penetrate for your own wiring though. The largest/easiest is right above the parking brake or brake pedal. Just look up at the firewall and you'll see a big black rubber plug. Poke a hole through that and run your RCA. It can be a pain in the ***, but its doable.
Is there any way for you to post a picture of how you connect to the mirror or just snap a picture and draw arrows to what was taken apart to access the power source? I don't want to start pulling on stuff and break something. I also got the wire and wanted to connect it somewhere near the mirror to get rid of the power cord hanging down to the cig lighter/ power plug. Thank you

thx Tricon always helpful as usual. I did find the blunt cut wires on the passenger side but of course I’m running RCA do those don’t work. I’ll go look for that plug in the drivers side now.
Hey Chris3..... Do you the the details of the rest of the wires. I just did my radar like you said and now was wondering if any of those are constant hot,
