hello, I know this is an old thread but I just had this code (P24D1) appear today on my 2018 F250 6.7. I was wondering what you did to fix it? Thanks!
Your 2018 truck still under warranty? I suspect it might be under the emissions warranty. Call the dealer and ask them. They can tell you via your VIN and mileage if it is under warranty or not.
I keep getting that damn code too. I am still under warranty. 2018 f250 6.7 .... I already took it to the dealer once in Feb and they changed a particulate matter sensor. The light just came back on today. Same freakin code. Going back to dealer on Monday. Frustrated and a little annoyed.
Keep us posted on what the dealership says. I did a manual regen on mine. It went away for about 100 miles then came back on. Then after driving with the engine light on for probably 200 miles and a few days later, it went off on its own. I’m about to make a 600+ mile round trip so we will see what happens.

I will for sure. The first time mine came on, it went out on it's own too after about three days. So I let it go, but it came on again a week later or so, so I made the appointment to bring it in. It went out again on it's own the second time before I brought it in. This is whacky. I use the truck to pull a trailer for work. It's such a pain in the *** to switch trucks and contents to bring it to them again.
So here's what I got. The light did go out again on Sunday. So came on Friday, goes out on Sunday. Took it to Ford this morning. They did identify the code, P24D1. They claim software updates were available for the PCM, nox module, and the particulate matter sensor (but they have it written as particular matter sensor) Reprogram modules to latest calibrations. .... I'm wondering if this is actually a thing or just some bs lol. Hopefully somebody that knows reads and chimes in. So hopefully it doesn't just light back up again in a few miles and it's actually corrected. Fingers crossed.

Did this ever fix the problem? Just had the dealership replace the particulate sensor and the code is coming and going. Thanks

No. It did not. The light came on again a short while later. SO, I took it back a third and hopefully final time and they replaced the sensor and harness. They claim the tech looked up and found there was an issue with whatever they changed this time. Why didn't they do that the first time? My theory, the first two times I brought it, the light had gone out again beforehand, so I think they did nothing. This time the light was still on. I looked underneath at the sensor they replaced this time before and after I got it back, and it is a new one. Really hoping it stays off this time.
Anyone having any luck getting this fixed. I have taken mine to the dealer 3 times in a row for this same problem and they can't get it fixed. Everytime I get the truck back the light comes back on after a few hundred miles. They replaced the sensor twice, updated the computer twice and twice did manual regen on truck. They are baffled, last time they had it they told my dirty aftermarket air filter could be a contributing factor. Which I cleaned as precaution the last time I got the truck back, didn't help at all light came back on. They don't have clue. Ford corporate is baffled also.
If you continue to have this problem Ford needs to give you another truck. I hope your state has a lemon law. i normally don't recommend this solution but emissions is a big thing. You just cant have a truck that keeps throwing a CEL. If you need a smog you can't get one with a CEL. You probably couldn't sell it with a continuous CEL.
This is odd. Good Luck

I wish I could but I am well past warranty and mileage limits for lemon law. I have 68k miles on my truck already. I have an aftermarket warranty which will pay for anything that needs to be repaired if they can just figure it out.
