I believe that the five star cabs had the argent grille. Those five star trucks had a high tone and low tone horn, two interior sun visors, and a few other minor upgrades (two-tone upholstery). The other trucks had a ivory grille.
I took in look in the Ford Pickup Red Book (Motorbooks International), and they state: "The grille was painted argent (silver) to complement the chrome headlight rings. During the model year, the grille was painted ivory and the headlight rings argent." I think they are saying that they made a running change during the model year.
I found Ditzler code DX 8555 for the Ford Argent Silver. The same paint name was used by GM for some Chevy applications as well, but the paint color was apparently slightly different. Just a heads-up to avoid confusion.
Although I didn't see the Argent Silver accent color, most of the color codes you might want can be found at:
Apparently Ford had a sense of humor (rare) as far as paint names go. Check out the paint chips for 1970 Ford at the link above. "Bring Em Back Olive" green??? "Anti-Establish Mint" green??? Pretty bad.
Thanks Babsman, I have a '49 F-1 and from the info I have the grille was painted Argent silver, I'm heading out to the paint shop now to see about these numbers.
