Adjusting LED headlights

So I've had my truck lifted with a 4" BDS kit and I'm tired of being flashed as I drive down the road at night (im sure people are tired of being blinded by my bright *** lights too

I went to adjust the lights via the screw adjustment and as I tried to turn it, it wasn't budging. I didn't want to give it too much torque and break something. For those of you who have adjusted the lights, how much force was needed? Am I being a lil B and should I just use more force?

anyway, these are the screws I was trying to turn. I hope they are the right ones.

Let me clarify something...its not that the screws wont budge, they actually do turn but they feel like they are spring loaded. After turning 1/4 turn or so they spring back into place. I don't want to force them and end up breaking them because I'm doing something wrong. Thanks for the help.

Yep. They feel very "plasticy". I worked mine back and forth a bit until the screw moved, then down (tighten) 1-1.5 full turns. Not a very comforting feeling, but they turned. Once they broke free, they were much easier to turn.
Others here have reported breaking the adjustment screws and having them successfully replaced under warranty.

good idea working them back and forth. Any other tips getting them to break free?

I would really like to avoid a warranty discussion.

Try WD-40 or a penetrating oil. My passenger side broke while I was turning it and the dealership replaced the entire unit under warranty

I tried adjusting them after my level. One side worked but very slowly gave way and bound up. the other started to give but was binding up as well then snapped. I got it covered under warranty they had to replace them entire light housing over 1200.00. Be very careful if they don’t give bring it to the dealer let them snap it.

I had good luck with a spray Teflon dry lube after breaking one and getting it warranteed. Now they both smooth as butter, didn’t like the idea of spraying with a oil based lube.

That sounds like a great idea. How did you get the lube in the right spot?

If you leave ok down the back of the light housing you can see the gear set. I just shot at it liberally and moved the gears back and forth.
