Hi all - I have been using the OBD Diagnostic "dongle" with the Torque app on my very old Android phone.
Well, my VERY old Android phone finally bit the dust and I would like to replace it with an app that is compatible with the iPhone.
Is anyone out there using an app with the iPhone for reading ODB codes from the older gen 2001 Excursion?
I use Lemur monitors BlueDriver on my 2002 and 2004 excursions, as well as my 1998 Dodge Ram. It's strictly a code reader/clear, you can't communicate back to the computer, but it works well for my purposes and has helped me diagnose several issues and get them repaired. After reading the codes, the app will tell you the most likely reasons for the code and what fixed the issue for other people. I don't have anything else to compare it to, as it's the only code reader app I have used, but like I said, I've been happy with it. You do have to purchase the Bluetooth dongle that mates with the app, but it's reasonably priced on Amazon.

I have a 2001 and it only has OBD1 codes and not OBD2 codes. Is your 2002 OBD1 only also?
Do you recall whether or not it gives misfire data?
I’m running Dash Command on my I phone and my tablet. The tablet has a bigger screen so I can have 6 gauges setup. I have it on a home made holder in front of the console.
I just bought this one for my Android phone. Connected it for the first time this morning. Used the free Forscan app and it told me codes from the 4wd system, Abs and others that a regular OBD scanner wouldn't.
No, my 2002 is OBD2. I don't remember specifically if it gives misfire data. I'm thinking it does...I think that's what lead me to replace my plugs and coils a few years ago...and I did find a coil that was cracked when I took them off. Sorry, fortunately, I don't have to use my handy OBD scanner very often!
