Changing 6v Engine to 12v

What will I need to change on the engine in order to make it 12v? Oil pressure sensor? Temp sensor? Coil?

Not sure what you're working on, but you can use a single voltage reducer to keep all your original gauges and sending units. I did it. You have an option with the coil, either replace it with a 12 volt coil or use an external ballast resistor on your existing coil. If you are converting to negative ground you will need to reverse the direction of the wire that passes through the ammeter pickup and reverse the primary wires on the coil. You can get voltage reducers for the heater and wiper motors, or get 12 volt motors. I assume you know you'll have to get a 12 volt alternator or generator, and change all the light bulbs.

An F6. I already got the gauges converted when I had it refaced. I'm planning on having the whole truck converted to 12v so I can run trailer lights and brakes. Yeah, I knew I'd have to get an alternator and switch the light bulbs.

Excellent! Sounds like you know what to do and how to do it. Got any pics of it laying around?
